DESCRIPTION:Run by an AI and Reproduction Specialist and certified inseminator\, students will be guided through the process of artificial insemination (AI) with both theory and practical experience. \nCourse Length: 2 days \nStudent Maximum: 8 per course \nUnit includes:\nTheory on reproduction: \n\nManagement – advanced insemination\nHeat detection\nHeat cycle & hormones\nSemen quality\, storing\, and handling\n\nPalpation & examination of reproductive organs: \n\nPalpating ovaries\nOrgan Dissections\nInseminating the organs\n\nPractical: \n\nSemen handling\nWorking with cows for AI\nLocating and manipulating the cervix inside the cow\nLearning how to put the pistolette through the cervix\n\nThe completion of this course requires the passing of a practical exam. \nDustcoats and gumboots will be provided for all students to use for the duration of the course.
