Bookings are now open!

The South African government has recently reopened the international tourism sector with certain requirements and restrictions in place, including limitations on countries that are listed on the Covid high risk travel list. Please go through the information below to familiarise yourself with the different requirements and the process you need to follow in order to secure your booking with Safari4u.

What do I need in order to travel to SA?

  • You will need to go for a PCR test and you need to provide a Covid negative test result (less than 72 hours old) that has been signed by a registered doctor when boarding your flight and when arriving in South Africa.
  • You MUST have travel insurance.
  • You will need to submit proof of your South African address when you travel. This will be provided to you by Safari4u upon payment of your deposit.
  • Please read through the following SA government page for comprehensive information:
    SA Government Travel Regulations

What are the alternatives?

The only alternatives are either waiting for your country to be removed from the Covid high risk list or you can travel to another low risk country before coming to South Africa. The government has stated that if you travel to a low risk country for at least 10 days beforehand you will then be classified as low risk and can travel into South Africa thereafter. All the African countries are currently low risk.

What happens when I arrive?

You will be screened upon arrival in South Africa, this includes a symptom screening and an interview regarding recent travel and/or contact with potential Covid-positive friends, family or other persons. You will also need to present your proof of South African address when you arrive.
